Armstrong and Miller" are collectively the comedians and actors Alexander Armstrong and Ben Miller, and also the name of their television sketch show which ran from 1997 to 2001.
The fourth (and final) series of the show was released on DVD in the UK in 2006.
A new series is being produced by Hat Trick Productions for BBC One. The first studio recording took place on Friday 23rd February 2007, at BBC TV Centre.
In the first series the pair presented spoof costume drama Brunswicke Park; Hollywood octogenarians Kip and Tam; lame detectives Parsons and Lampkin - and Lampkin's friend Steve; Flavia and Venetia, the frightening owners of the Tiny Vegetarian Restaurant; the dodgy Fairground Assistants; and old favourites Strijka.
A delightful surrealistic edge ran through the shows, becoming more evident in certain sketches, like the recurring 'Japanese kids' segment where Armstrong and Miller and their supporting cast spoke in cod-Japanese while subtitles allowed viewers to follow the often bafflingly banal conversations. The support cast were uniformly good but special mention should go to Tony Gardner (Parsons in the Parsons and Lampkin skits) who was particularly good value.
